During François’s discussion of this wine, he talked mostly about the soils. Limestone like what’s present at this vineyard site, he argued, imparts a character on the wines that supersedes any other aspect of the fruit or finished wine. This is an especially energized and zippy Blanc des blancs, with notes of citrus oils and an intricate structure. Exceptionally precise, pure, and composed.
